So I found your video by accident, I was looking something else up - but as it happens, just yesterday, I made some Chili Mac , with a can of Wolff Chili that "expired" in 2018, and a box of Save-a-Lot Mac & Cheese ( which is just cheap, small Elbow Macaroni, I just didn't use the cheese packet and saved it) that I got on sale for $.33 cents a box... perfectly good. As long as cans aren't physically damaged and stored in relatively cool/not warm conditions, they last a damn longtime...

I only eat canned MRE’s if I don’t meal prep for the week. Knowing canned foods will store many years beyond their best to use date, I only buy on sale and only buy meals based on calorie and protein content for the dollar. I prefer chunky stews so I can add rice when SHTF. My last purchase was 20oz cans of Denti Moore beef stew with 500 calories and 25g of protein per can at $2.49.

Butterfield is misleading. There is less beef in a can of Butterfield than Costco yet Butterfield claims to have 78 grams of protein. The clear winner is Costco.

I never knew it was chocolate! I always thought it was just some new peanut butter for the "cool kids" and didn't know what was so special about it. It's interesting that some of the knockoff brands could actually be less sugary and more healthy. I would want to try Nutastic after watching this.

Check your Keystone meats . I opened to cans of ground beef that the fat looks rancid and kept hearing a popping sound thought something went wrong with my canned goods. None of my home canned jars were popped. So I started rotating my canned goods for dates and discovered some of my meats the lids were not flat on my keystone and they actually pop up and down. I am currently emailing Keystone to see what can be done about it.

Palm oil is similar to coconut oil, but not the same. Has much more saturated fat than vegetable oils. Not necessarily healthier, but maybe. I think they use palm oil because it is solid rather than liquid at room temp.

Canned food is a short-term solution. the long term is self sufficency. Move away from corporate dependent urban areas and move in rural areas or in a farm. Plant vegetables and raise farm animals for food, fur, and leather. Organic discard can be turned to fuel ethanol and methane to fuel generators and vehicles.

Thank you for the time you spent making this video. I will say that I would only consider this stove if it was the only off grid stove available. Very expensive to operate. I prefer the butane 1 burner cook top. I also purchased a very well made, 2 burner propane counter top portable cooktop. Black glass with metal grates. I can hook up any 11lb on up to 100 lb propane tank to it. Those are my indoor/off grid ways of cooking. Of course, they are very portable and I can take outside as well. Both are adjustable flame just like a natural gas stove from simmer to power cooking. I don't like the alcohol stoves because you only have 1 flame setting out of the can. 'lit'. Thanks again for the demonstration.

Hello all I wanted to couple of suggestions. First of which is to check out any ethnic stores you may have in your area, especially Asian. This may be a bit on the pricy side for many but it is an option. Dry Fish, Dry Squid (which I grew up eating like beef jerky) are often carried along with a wider assortment of can sea food. Asian markets have a slew of items that can been put in your pantry and eaten without cooking. Such of varieties of pre-cooked rice, can porridge. Things I carry in the pantry for hurricane season (On top of mention items) and are probably not practical for long term survival foods. Jar sour kraut. Jar pickled mix vegetables. Can boiled peanuts. Spam. Peanut butter cheese crackers (Lance). Breakfast bars (Honey and Oats). Regular crackers. My biggest thing when I purchase items for emergency food storage, is that they have to be things I am willing to eat. Some times if I find a good deal I will also grab a small jar of picked eggs. Off topic: Items that have to be cooked for emergency storage in the pantry: 15lb bag(s) of rice. Dried sea weed. Doenjang (soybean paste).

I love ramen noodles right out of the package, crunchy. I can then use the spice pack for bullion for a cup of soup. Here's a recipe for Satay noodles: Cook ramen noodles and drain. Take 1-2 Tblsp. peanut butter 1-2 Tblsp. soy sauce, 1-5 tsp. Sriracha or other garlic chili sauce and mix with peanut butter and soy sauce. Add water until you get a medium thick paste. Toss noodles in it. Top with salted roasted peanuts if you have them. Enjoy. Oops, no cook foods were what was requested. Read 3 bean salad or potato salad, Deviled ham, pretzels, crackers, canned stuffed grape leaves, small cans of marinated artichokes, sprats, smoked oysters, V8, individual bottles/cans of cranberry juice, pineapple juice, apple juice, bubbly water AND I just found these...Nutella B-ready crispy wafers filled with Nutella hazelnut spread! Instant espresso and single serve no fridge needed non-dairy creamers. Shall I go on?
